Terms of service

These terms apply to the Kudu Connect browser extension, the Kudu Desktop app, the Kudu website and your Kudu account (together, “the service”). By installing or using any of them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your device secure. You must be at least 13 years old, or the age required in your country, to use the service.

2. What the service does, and does not promise

Kudu suggests writing changes, answers questions, and, in Act mode and in Kudu Desktop, performs actions in your browser or on your computer that you ask for. The answers come from AI models and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Actions are performed on your instruction and under your supervision: review what the agent is about to do when it asks, and check the result. Do not rely on the service for legal, medical, financial or safety-critical decisions.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• break the law or the terms of the websites and apps you use it on;
• access accounts, data or systems you are not allowed to access, or circumvent security, paywalls or rate limits;
• send spam, scrape sites that forbid it, or impersonate someone;
• generate content that is illegal, harassing or that infringes others' rights;
• reverse-engineer the service, resell it, or use it to build a competing AI model.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

4. Plans, payment and refunds

The free plan includes a daily number of AI messages and unlimited grammar quick checks. Plus ($18 a month or $144 a year) and Pro ($39 a month or $312 a year) are billed in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. New accounts get 7 days of Pro at no charge; nothing is billed unless you choose a plan. You can cancel any time from the billing portal; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. If a charge was a mistake or the service was unusable, write to us within 14 days and we refund it. Prices may change; we tell you by email at least 30 days before a change applies to you.

5. Your content

You own what you write and what the service produces for you. You give us the licence needed to process it to provide the service, and nothing more. We do not use your content to train models and we do not sell it. See the privacy policy for what we store and for how long.

6. Our software

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use Kudu Connect and Kudu Desktop. The software is ours (or our licensors') and protected by copyright. Third-party components keep their own open-source licences.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for actions the agent took on your instruction. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Ending the service

You can stop any time by uninstalling and, if you wish, asking us to delete your account. We can end or change the service with reasonable notice, and refund any prepaid period we do not deliver.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced in the product or by email before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
